William Smith

William Carl Smith, better known as "Carl," passed away on January 3, 2025, in New Carlisle, Indiana, at the age of 71. He was born on February 17, 1953, in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of Mildred (Bunton) Mobley and William Smith. 

Carl lived a life full of laughter and humor and had a way of putting you at ease. His sense of humor and quick wit defined him, and those who knew him would tell you he never met a stranger. 

Carl served in the Army Reserves before hitting the road as a truck driver, a career he had for over 40 years before retiring. 

Carl is survived by his wife, Sue (Collier) Smith; his children, Jason Smith (Kristin) and Ginny Aga (Brian); his grandchildren, Maili, Bailey, Lauren and Connor; and his sister, Peggy Reeder (Dan).

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Vicki Bishop.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. There will be no formal funeral service, but his family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date to honor his memory.

Carl's legacy lives on in the laughter he brought, the love he shared, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
