William "Bill" H. Lamb, 67, of Fish Lake, Indiana, died at 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Devenport officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek, Indiana, where full military rites will be conducted.
Bill was born March 17, 1937, in Farmer City, Illinois. On September 4, 1976, in Rolling Prairie, IN, he married Ruth Engle Standifer, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Kip (Trudy) Lamb and Thomas Lamb, both of LaPorte and Jeffrey (Debbie) LaBere of IN; daughters Yvette "Sis" (Richard) Battleday of Wanatah, IN, Virginia (Bruce) Behenna of LaPorte and Mary (Bart) West of Rolling Prairie; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Brenda (Laurence) Pierce of Seymour, TN and Drena (Dennis) Peting of Baytown, TX; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and one aunt.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Alberta V. (Harrold) Lamb McGovern & Thomas F. McGovern and a grandson.
Bill was the former owner of The Last Roundup on Stillwell, IN. He retired as a self-employed carpet installer and carpenter. He was a US Airforce veteran. He was also a member of the Fish Lake American Legion Post #400, the LaPorte Moose Lodge and the Stillwell Rod & Gun Club.
