William Loucks

October 28, 1934 — January 14, 2013


William "Bill" D. Loucks of Rolling Prairie passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 in his home at the age of 78. He was born on October 28, 1934, the son of the late Theodore and Vada (Sechrist) Loucks. He married the greatest love of his life Wanda O'Dell on August 23, 1952; she preceded him in death on May 27, 2012.

Bill co-founded L and B Masonry with his brother-in-law Gale Bales in the early 1960's. In 1970, he founded Loucks Concrete Specialists. He will be fondly remembered for his philanthropic priorities including the Lamb's Chapel Food Pantry and Haitian Support Ministries. He believed that his faith in Christ motivated him to be a blessing to others. His legacy will continue on in the countless lives he affected in the United States and in Haiti.

He is survived by three siblings; Max Loucks, Phyllis Bales, and Linda (Chuck) McGrath. He is also survived by seven children; Tina Bernth, Neal (Juanita) Loucks, and Jay (Lynn) Loucks all of LaPorte, Kim (Burt) Bennett of Rolling Prairie, Dennis Whitman of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Cindy (Mike) Miller of Rolling Prairie, and Sandy (Marvin) Messer of LaPorte. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his sister-in-law Francis Loucks and brother-in-law Robert Gale Bales.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Lamb's Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Nate Loucks officiating. Burial will follow at Posey Chapel Cemetery in LaPorte County. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11AM-2PM prior to the service at the church.
