William D. Sandefur, Jr., 43, of La Porte, formerly of Hammond, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
On May 14, 2011 he married Jennifer L. Frazier who survives. Also surviving are his parents, Walter and Deborah L. (Patterson) Piech; four children, Patricia, Kindrick, Joshua, Decklan; granddaughter, Ari; grandmother, Pat Lopez; siblings, Kristi (Edward) Pomplun, Joshua Piech, Jeremy (Allison) Piech; nieces and nephews, Brett, Nathan, Alexander, Mason, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Cayden, Morgan, Kara, Bridger; Inlaws, William and Bobbie Frazier, William and Kim Frazier, Zach and Jamie Ramsey, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandpa Thomas Patterson; great grandma, Virginia Kotechi; grandpa, Jose Lopez; and uncle, Brian Patterson.
William was a 1990 graduate of Morton Sr. High School, in Hammond. He had a love for sports, especially the White Sox and coached little league.
A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Edward Hasnerl officiating. A time of visitation will be held from Noon until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
