William Reed Stone, age 70, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his sister's home in La Porte.
William was born in La Porte on May 27, 1944 to Harold Reed and Helen Velma (Stewart) Stone.
Surviving are his beloved children, Ryan Reed Stone of Asheville, NC, and Chantel Marie Stone of Tazewell, TN; sister, Joann Rider of La Porte; brother-in-law, Rickford Rider of La Porte; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Kay Flynn.
William worked as a fabricating welder for New York Blower. He enjoyed metal art sculpting, gardening, football, and exercising at The Crossing.
A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Crossroads Christian Center, 311 Roosevelt St., La Porte.
