Wilma Dian Janik, 75, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Golden Living Center in La Porte with her loving family by her side.
Wilma was born on November 17, 1940 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio to Carl F. and Wilma P. (Speakman) Cooper who precede her.
On September 16, 1959, she married Phillip A. Janik who survives her. Wilma loved spending time with her family and was a faithful member of Agape Christian Church in La Porte. She loved being outdoors in nature, bonfires, deer watching, root beer floats and loved chocolate.
Surviving are her beloved husband Phillip, Sr.; children, Debbie (Jay) Jalovecky of Kingsford Heights, Phil Jr. (Carol) Janik of La Porte, Edward (Laura) Janik of La Porte, and Sandra (Suzi) Janik of Mt. Dora, FL.; sisters, Paulette Hamilton of Spring Hill, FL.; brother, Carl “Sonny” Cooper of Hebron, Charlotte Cooper of Spooner, WI; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 and from 9 AM till the time of service at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
