James Anthony Martinez

James Anthony Martinez, 47, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at his home.

James was born in Michigan City, IN, on March 19, 1971 to Ernesto and Juanita (Gutierrez) Martinez.

Surviving are his children, Sarah (Lorenzo) Corona and Ashley Santolino; grandchildren, Selena Corona and Mariana Corona; 6 brothers, Ernie Martinez, Jr. of La Porte, Art (Kathy) Martinez of Lafayette, IN, David Martinez of La Porte, Joe (Shelley) Martinez of Tucson, AZ, Gerrardo Martinez of Springfield, and Steve Martinez of La Porte; 5 sisters, Mary Jane (Mark) Engle of Tucson, AZ, Teresa Stacy of Springfield, MO, Maria (Rick) BonDurant of Chesterfield, MO, Amy (Robert) Zurek of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Becky (Tom) Howard of La Porte.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tiffany Martinez.

James loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved fishing and was a Pittsburgh Steelers and an avid Cubs fan.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service will take place.
